Redbull #Takecharge Campaign
Empowering Woman
Background:
For this academic project, the assignment was straightforward: choose a brand with a predominantly male or female audience and strategically reposition it for the opposite demographic. Red Bull, with its core audience of young male athletes and extreme sports enthusiasts, became the perfect candidate. The challenge was to reimagine the brand's messaging and visual identity to authentically speak to women, not just create a tokenistic adaptation. How could we make Red Bull feel relevant and empowering to female audiences without diluting the brand's core energy?
Solution:
What started as a classroom assignment evolved into something more ambitious. We developed a comprehensive campaign across social media, digital activations, and street-level installations that repositioned Red Bull as a brand that fuels all kinds of ambition. The campaign gained additional resonance when the Women's March was announced, and we saw an opportunity to elevate the work by exploring a partnership that aligned Red Bull's newfound commitment to female empowerment with a larger cultural moment. This pivot took the project beyond traditional advertising into meaningful brand activism, creating a multi-channel campaign that spoke to women's agency and capability through both guerrilla installations and strategic digital touchpoints. The result demonstrated how a thoughtful rebrand can transcend academic exercise and become a blueprint for authentic cultural engagement.
